We've all encountered bad neighbors from time to time, but I've had to endure mine for many, many years.
I thought that I'd share some of their exploits here.
Have you thought about calling 311 to make a complaint to 311? I suggest that you tell the DOB they are using a residential building for commercial purposes, recycling and barbecuing business. then make a complaint to HPD & DOB about the illegal dwelling. I bet that the C of O is not for an apartment building ie, looks like a basement apartment they are crawling out of. Then I would forward all the complaint numbers to the local community board. How about the arson prevention division of the NYFD? I have a feeling that these are illegal immigrants with many jackpot babies. Just wondering if you thought about printing out your blog and pasting it to their front door?
Yes, the limo is theirs as well. They have a sign out in front of the property promoting it.
Compliants have been called in to 311 for Sanitation, DOB, DOH, FDNY, NYPD (for other crap not yet featured on this blog).
Little to nothing has been done.
These turds will not and do not care about summonses, official requests or letters. They are adamant about preserving their way of life - at the expense of all others around them.
It is often suggested that "you ought to move". Easy to say, but hard to afford. Besides, I hate the idea of being forced out of our house. And, who's to say that we won't face a similar situation in a new location?
Looks like you've exhausted all our NYC agency resources. I’m surprised about the lack of response from FDNY. They’re usually pretty good about things like this.
Next level should be the Feds: IRS, ICE and DHS. Who knows, they might be terrorists. Involving the local should be helpful.
