PARTY!

We were out on Saturday afternoon, so we missed the beginning of their festivities. But, we did we did get home around 6:30 PM the backyard party was going full storm. While they did move the crowd indoors about 10 PM, as you can see in the first photo, they didn't bother to close their door (they almost never do) so the loud music and louder, drunken talk carried in the air and into all of the neighboring houses.

Of course, they had to leave the door open so that the little kids in the house could periodically come out to shoot a couple of baskets or just or have screaming contests.

A complaint about the din was made to 311 at 11:15 PM. In an attempt to get some sleep, we closed our windows and put on the ceiling fan and air conditioner.

We were able to fall asleep without too much trouble, but were awoken at 1:57 AM by the increased assault of noise coming from the house.

This time, I called the local precinct "We'll try to send a car" and attempted once again to go back asleep.

Getting up at 7AM we found that the party was still going strong, the music had been turned off, but the people inside were louder and drunker.

You can see in the second photo that they still hadn't closed their door (and, yes, that is last year's Christmas wreath still on it).

It was only when I left the house at 8:40 AM that I saw some of their guest going home!

We were out again on Sunday afternoon, but when we got home in the early evening we could see that they were partying again! This time, whale the adults were out in the back, the children must've been asleep in bed as the house itself was dark with the door closed. Clearly the parents knew that their behavior was loud and disruptive, and wanted to shield their kids, but it was still okay to poop on all the neighbors.

And, what about the complaints that were made to the police? According to the page at 311 officers visited the house at 3:00 AM and "took action to fix the condition". Well, besides the cops taking four hours to respond (much better than no at all), they weren't very effective when they did.

The was one good thing about the party: no bottle and can sorting!
